| You’re in our hearts and souls We can see a brighter tomorrow We realize in the end You were the lucky one in a way You’re in a place of happiness Just bursting with your joy No more sickness or sadness Or days filled with fear You didn’t get those new lungs That you waited patiently for But instead you got your angel wings And now breathe with ease We miss you and we cry More for ourselves than you Memories of the brighter times Are always flooding our thoughts The thoughts are all that fill our minds Regarding the wonderful day When after bad news, came good And we thought things would work out better You had a grin on your face You talked with a hand squeeze It was an upbeat tone you displayed You signed ‘I love you’ to your Mom The last thing before eternal sleep took you away We didn’t know it was over Smiles as bright as the sun Covered our excited faces We convinced ourselves You would get your lungs and heart And things would be amazing But life had other plans for you Just like day to night Things turned from hope to dismay Your body just couldn’t hold on It was becoming too weak We all had a hard time letting you go But deep within we realized That a life of sickness and machines Just wasn’t a life for you So like a bird You flew away To the land of eternal sun You left us just shy of age fifteen So much life you hadn’t experienced You’re in our memories You’ll always remain within my heart Even though you are gone I'll always tell your legacy |
